Hottest Music Festivals of 2013 in Europe

imagen01Summer is the season of music festivals. From rock to indie, punk or dance, there are many ways to express yourself through music. Music celebrations are probably the most popular kind of manifestations, and no matter what country you are from, music comes in so many forms and styles that it is impossible not to find the perfect festival for your taste. Here is a list of some of the hottest music festivals in Europe.

  1. The Big Chill is an annual festival of dance and chill-out music held in England, more specifically on the grounds of the Eastnor Castle during August. Some of the big names which took part in the festival in the past are Kanye West, The Chemical Brothers, Robert Plant and Rodrigo y Gabriela. At first the Big Chill was a type of ambient party hosted at the Union Chapel, and it later became an outdoor manifestation.

  2. Sonar is one of the most popular festivals in Spain, Barcelona. The fun lasts for three days, usually during the month of June. The Sonar sees thousands of music enthusiasts every year, and it is the playground for the most influential artists and socially active people. The festival is also described as three days which present the most up-to-date developments in music.

  3. Croatia is home to one of Europe’s favorite music festivals, the Inmusic Festival. The reason for its popularity is the beautiful setting, right in the heart of Zagreb and the beautiful indie music played.

  4. The german Sonnemondsterne celebration takes place in Sallburg, a rural and authentic location. The type of music played is electronic, the perfect style for people who wish to relax and take in the fresh vibes. If you are lucky enough, you might have the chance to see the Kraftwerk perform.

  5. One of my favorite music festivals is the notorious Tomorrowland, which is also the largest electronic dance music festival in the world. The celebrations are marked by fairytale decorations and creative costumes. It is held every summer on the domain of Schorre Boom, and many huge names have performed on its stage. ( Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Bob Sinclair etc.. )

  6. Last but not least, Bestival is an English music festival which takes place at the Robin Hill in the Isle of Wight. It occurred for the first time in 2004, and since then Rob da Bank has been hosting the event. The festival is generally smaller and more intimate, and it is usually considered a more alternative way of celebrating music.

Music has no sex, nationality, age or religious limitations. It speaks all languages, and it has the power to move people. What better way to move someone than by offering him the chance of enjoying a few days of sheer happiness expressed through music? A music festival is one of the most enjoyable ways of having fun in summer, and the great news is that there are many types of events you can choose from!
